Professional take-home teeth whitening kids are an effective and safe way to whiten and brighten teeth in the comfort, privacy and convenience of your own home. Chestermere Dental uses the PolaDay Whitening System by SDI. It contains 7.5% solution. Our professional team will send you home with plastic custom-made trays created using impressions of our own teeth, ensuring a perfect fit so only your teeth come in contact with the solution. You will also be sent home with a special hydrogen peroxide gel. While in the comfort of your own, you simply fill the trays with the special whitening gel and wear over your teeth twice a day for 30 minutes at a time. Do not exceed 45 minutes per wear, as this may cause sensitivity. If you are prone to sensitivity, start brushing with a sensitivity toothpaste 2 weeks before starting our whitening treatment. You are in control of the whitening process. Once you reach the desired result, you should stop the treatment. Most patients see results in one to two weeks, although individual results can vary. Your Chestermere Dental professional team member will go over with you exact instructions on how to use your take-home teeth whitening kit, and send you home with written instructions.

Teeth are naturally dark along the gumline. As such, these areas may require more time to lighten than the rest of the tooth surface, and may remain slightly darker. Also, fillings and crowns will not change colour with whitening products. Patients who experience sensitivity may need to modify their treatment schedule slightly, such as taking a day or two break between treatments. Fewer treatments are suggested when sensitivity is an issue. Patients will also be given a tube of Sensodyne Repair and Correct toothpaste which helps reduce sensitivity.
