Invisalign® is a series of clear custom-made plastic aligners that are worn over your teeth to gradually straighten your teeth over time into the desired position. The aligners are custom-made, and therefore fit your teeth and mouth perfectly to meet your unique goals. The Invisalign® trays are held in place with tiny tooth-coloured attachments that are bonded onto specific teeth and help the trays apply the correct pressure to certain areas, creating the desired results. Since the trays are removable, you are able to drink, eat, brush and floss your teeth normally. While treatment times vary from patient to patient, it typically takes 9-15 months to achieve the best result, although it is possible that some may see results in even less time. For best results, Invisalign® trays should be worn for 20-22 hours a day, and changed out every two weeks to fit a new configuration. Because the aligners trays are virtually invisible, no one will know you are undergoing orthodontic treatment unless you tell them! Once treatment is complete, the attachments are removed from teeth and the teeth are polished, leaving you with the straight smile you have always wanted!
